I think that this months Falendor went a little quicker because I am getting faster at it and I did choose a different setup for next month...you'll see. Doodleton "The Queen of Hearts Tea Party" update.Yesterday I started working on the Alice in Wonderland project on the computer. My first problem was getting the correct scale since Clip Studios ruler settings make pretty much no sense to me, I cheated and scanned a ruler, a lettering scale to be precise, I then laid out the lines, placed the walls and then started placing some guards. I will try to do some more next week. Here are the photos. Falendor update: Background for this month's story line. This month I introduced a character that I have been wanting to put in for a while, "Billy Ames." While he means nothing to most of my readers, he was very important to me. "Bill " Ames was a close family friend of ours for YEARS. We spent Thanksgivings with him when I was very young and it was he who started my passion for trains. He and his wife Bea (the train in my strip is called the Lionel Bea because of her.) gave me my first train set! And the train from the strip, is actually a real train, well sort of. It my FATHER'S 1939 Lionel Hiawatha Freight train, that he and his Brother Don received for Christmas in 1940. It is in a display case in our dining room. I just took pictures of it and redrew it in Clip Studio, thats why the line width changes so drastically when the train "magically shrinks" down..one drawing, several shots ;) There is a whole story behind this old train...maybe some other time. Why put Billy here and now? He was a father figure to me, I know he had his faults but who doesn't? Years later after I moved out on my own, Bill gave me my first air brush. His words when he handed it to me; "Go make great worlds." He meant trains, I went farther. I just wanted to honor him here for believing in me and for giving me a passion that I still have to this day.
Thanks Uncle Bill. Have a great Sunday everyone! ...S
